County Tipperary is the largest of Ireland's 12 inland counties in terms
of land area and has a population of 133,500. Its main urban centre is Clonmel with other
larger towns located at Thurles, Cashel, Clonmel, Nenagh, Roscrea, Cahir and Carrick on
Suir. The county boasts richly varied scenery in its hills and mountains, its plains and
river valleys. Tipperary offers excellent facilities for pursuits such as angling, golf,
mountain climbing, caving and hunting. "Must Sees" include the ancient ruins
high on the Rock of Cashel, the monastery at Holy Cross and the castle at Cahir. The
mighty river Shannon flows through Tipperary and Lough Derg is the largest of its three
